Capturing the Old West: Photography of Edward Curtis

Koelbel

Description

Travel back in time to the days of the Old West, through the true-life tale of well-known American photographer Edward Sheriff Curtis (1868-1952). Hired more than 100 years ago by J.P. Morgan, Curtis's work highlights the American West and Native American peoples and spans more than 20 volumes of 1,500 photographs. The University of Denver is home to a rare set of photographs, with only a handful remaining intact. "Tour Guide" Paul Unks, of Mountain Hawk Fine Arts, will lead the adventure, presenting a slideshow of Curtis' breath-taking images, set to the tune of music by Native American composers.
