Dirty, grimy, crime-actioner about an arms deal gone wrong. Basically a 90-minute shootout. On Letterboxd, reviews are split. Is the physical geography of the warehouse comprehend-able, where you know where the camera is at all times, or…

This movie has an ostensibly simple premise - a deal gone wrong and a bunch of criminals shooting at each other - but it is such a blast. The dialogue is hysterical and there are no dull moments, just constant action.

Apparently the characters in this movie walk around with 1000 rounds of ammo in their pockets...no other way to explain how they could do this.
The movie is stupid, pointless and boring.....just bang bang bang for an hour.

Don't just watch, listen attentively. We enjoyed it. It was witty and interesting. This movie is not just about shooting and blowing things up. It is quite substantive and hilarious.

An extremely foolish movie of violent shooting spree without a gripping and engaging story.
If you've got something else to do, don't waste your time on this flick.

Drawing his inspiration from video games as well as FBI reports of an actual shootout in Florida, director Ben Wheatley channels the likes of Quentin Tarantino and John Woo, adds his own mordant brand of humour, and serves up one of the…

A surprisingly fun shoot-out comedy. It doesn't have much of a plot other than survival, and it's certainly not a film free of flaws, but the performances are all solid across the board.

Good acting all wasted in a very thin plot. The movie goes nowhere. Literally. 99% of the movie are the shootings in the warehouse. How can they make a movie like this and expect people to enjoy it? A real time waster. Skip this one.

Perhaps one of the stupidest movies I have ever seen. Super low budget production takes place in a warehouse where an arms deal was supposed to occur. During the course of a script of idiotic dialogue and a fist fight, a 30 minute gun…
This crime and thriller film stars Brie Larson, Armie Hammer, Cillian Murphy, Sharlto Copley, and many more in this somewhat outrageous film. After an illegal and underground arms deal goes wrong, Justine finds herself stuck in the middle…

You will have a hard time getting John Denver out of your head after this movie. I don’t know what to think of this dark comedy. It is memorable and the acting is solid, but what was the point, I guess there wasn’t any.
I'm not sure how this movie has been so overlooked; it's a screenwriter's dream. Full of fast-paced action, witty dialogue, memorable characters, and sparse set locations, this film really makes the most of its tight budget and its actors.…

Absolutely loved this movie. Director, writer and editor Ben Wheatley does a great job here. I had trouble getting my partner to watch this once I told it her almost all of it is taken up by a gun fight in a warehouse, but she watched it…

This was a stylish and interesting movie of a gun deal gone wrong. Executive producer was Martin Scorsese which may have helped make this film as compelling as it was.
The acting was of some fine quality with worthy talents of Brie…

Yes, like all the other comments.... this is just a huge indoor shoot-out. Having said that, it's an entertaining shoot-out, not your standard bang, bang - you're dead movie. It's great to see that the writer/director accomplished the…

From the preview, I gathered that Free Fire was a dark-comedy/action piece ... but IMO all it amounted to was an amusing 70s period flashback (for what I remember of the 70s) with a vague story, a confusing 60+minute shootout with guns…

Why make this movie? A 90-minute gun fight where half the time you can't figure out the action to tell what is going on. Both Sharlto Copley, who plays the South African selling assault rifles, and Cillian Murphy, who plays the IRA soldier…

Surprisingly disappointing. There were exactly 3 scenes which I found to be at least somewhat funny and therefore memorable but otherwise I just glad I didn't spend any money on this completely predictable-from- beginning-to -end caper.…
