This is certainly a book I would recommend to others. Although the story line is not a cheery or bubbly read, the family dynamics and strength of characters was compelling and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The cover of 'Life and Other Inconveniences', with its cute dog swimming joyously underwater, belies the depth of this profound story. The title is subtle in its irony and truth.
