(*Familiar "Mission: Impossible" quote*) - "Good morning, Mr. Phelps."
From its distinctive theme music, to its high-energy dramatics, to its tight, clockwork-precision plots - TV's Mission: Impossible (from the mid/late-1960s) showcased some of the coolest, most daring special agents imaginable.
And with each exciting, thrill-packed episode these specially trained agents took us on some of the most bold and daredevil-like adventures, right around the world, and beyond.
So fasten your seat-belts and prepare yourself for TV's top-notch spy show, Mission: Impossible.
This classic series featured a first-rate cast, headlined by actor, Peter Graves (as IMF's leader, Jim Phelps), Martin Landau (as the master of disguise, Rollin Hand), and Greg Morris (as the electronics whiz, Barney Collier).
I liked to watch this show, when it was on network tv, and I was fascinated by how they were able to fool the Bad Guys, with such ease: debonair, really. When Leonard Nimoy joined the cast, I thought that was special. But if these guys are supposed to represent the Central Intelligence Agency, then....it's just a poor show, all around. These guys (the IMF team) wouldn't, I think, ever do any wrong, hurt any innocents. Now we know that that is untrue of the CIA. So, if the two, IMF, and CIA, became identified in people's minds, there's a serious problem with that. That ain't bologna. Here's why I gave it 3and a half stars: Lesley Anne Warren, a beauty in the Natalie Wood mold. The theme music, by Lalo Schifrin. And, that it doesn't have any Scientologists acting in it (So far as I am aware). I am a fan of mysteries. Something similar seems to be at work here, every episode. If someone wanted to write a book about that, I'd read it.
disc #6 is missing from this set!
Mission Impossible is pretty amazing in how they con & manipulate so many different people.
