Strictly for the Sondheim groupies. It's most interesting to see how cavalierly he was treated earlier in his career. This was made "on the cheap"-- the direction is uninspired, the sets dreadful, and the script squirm-inducing. But it is still lovely to hear and see "I Remember" in its original context. (The fact that the song doesn't make a whole lot of sense out of context has never stopped countless bad cabaret renditions). See it for that, for its historical value, and to get a sense of what an uphill climb it's been for Sondheim to achieve his canonization
