Mitchell shares the behind-the-scenes story of his year in the Mouse's army. From his own personal disneyfication to what really happens in the hidden tunnels beneath the Magic Kingdom, to what not to eat in the Mousketeria, it was a year filled with more adventure--and surprises--than he could ever have "imagineered."

I didn't finish the book. It lost its appeal part way through. I picked it up because I once worked as a dancer on a cruise line and the rumor was; Disney was by far the most difficult company to work for as a performer. The book confirmed what I had "heard" and while funny in parts, it was just the same scenarios retold with different circumstances, details, and truth I didn’t want to know. I think it is a very accurate account of an individual experience. Similar to cruise line work, in that all staff adhere to a cast order/level of hierarchy based on the "job" title you hold (as well as extracurricular activities that staff partake in). I have a very soft spot in my heart for Disney, and because as a child I spent two years of my life with season passes to Disneyland-I just couldn't keep reading in fear of ruining the "magic" I still feel the Kingdom holds over me. For those who are interested in really “knowing” the behind the scenes realities you will enjoy the book. For those who are happy to live in Disney denial it’s a title to skip.
