Since coming to Crossroads, Oklahoma, former outcast Aden Stone has been living the good life. Never mind that one of his best friends is a werewolf, his girlfriend is a vampire princess who hungers for his blood, and he's supposed to be crowned Vampire King--while still a human! Well, kind of. With four--oops, three now--human souls living inside his head, Aden has always been 'different' himself. These souls can time-travel, raise the dead, possess another's mind and, his least favorite these days, tell the future. The forecast for Aden? A knife through the heart. Because a war is brewing between the creatures of the dark, and Aden is somehow at the center of it all. But he isn't about to lie down and accept his destiny without a fight. Not when his new friends have his back, not when Victoria has risked her own future to be with him, and not when he has a reason to live for the first time in his life.

Unraveled, the sequel to Intertwined surely lived up to its name. Every chapter of this book lead to another unravelling of the once intertwined rope of its story line. In the first book everything was coming together at the end, even with the witches curse looming above their heads the gang had everything worked out but when the second book came about, on came the onslaught of problems piled upon problems and implications upon implications. Aden, now being vampire king though being as fragile as mere human, had to worry about dating a flock of vampire girls. It was said this was done to let vampire girls have a fair chance at being queen but in all truth, it wasn’t really fair at all seeing as he was already courting Victoria. He was also named the “Beast Tamer” for he, as applied by the name, tamed the beasts. You know the ones; they reside in the deepest, darkest recesses of a vampire, kept at bay by wards the vamps had tattooed onto themselves. Mary Anne, on the other hand, had far more pressing matters to think about, at least I think so. See, Mary Anne found out that she; the nicest, kindest, and former pacifist of a girl, was not just merely a human girl, oh no. She, my dear fellow readers, was and is a drainer. And a drainer was someone that drained every last bit of an otherworldly creature’s powers, more prominently witches. So in the end she runs away unknowing of the death that Aden foresaw and has finally yet unfortunately received. But don’t fret, my friends, for Aden was revived filled with Victoria’s blood, vampire blood to be exact. But that’s not all, when Aden awakens he finds that Victoria and he have traded their…innards meaning Victoria now has Aden’s souls and Aden now has Victoria’s beast. Ooh, and let’s not forget that Vlad is in fact alive and sent Tucker who only wanted to change his ways to kill Aden which is how he died. And, as all good novelists do, our story ends with a tantalizing cliff-hanger~I say

I definitely liked this book. It was fun to read with all of the action and adventure. The story line was exciting, but there was too much going on. At the end of the book, we are left with more questions than answers. There is a cliffhanger that leaves you with even more questions, so I definitely want to know what happens next but it is a long time till the next release.
Sept 8th, 2015 - I know I said it would be a long time for the next book but it's been 2 years, almost 3, come on Gena when is book 3 out and can we please get back to the story of the souls.

wow, what a condescending reviewer. i bet he just loves teenagers, and thinks so highly of their tastes. "...pretty messy, confusing, and derivative, but teen readers will probably devour it...". really? thank you so much for your blanket judgment. it means alot to me.

So much happened in this book that it was definitely a wild ride. Aden, Mary Ann, Victoria, and Riley all end up dealing with something big. Like before, Aden had to deal with the souls in his head, but now he has to deal with being Vampire King along with his impending death involving a knife. Mary Ann has to deal with finding out what she actually is, and what she is is not pretty. I have to say I feel sorry for her.

This is just a few of the things going on. To add to the mix, all of the main characters have to deal with a meeting with the witches that they have no idea where or when it will take place. If Aden does not make the meeting, all of them will die.
