The crime-busting odd couple of British law enforcement are back to solve more gripping murder mysteries. This series is as action-packed as ever, although two investigations affect the pair a bit too personally. Pascoe's wife, Ellie, puts her life and her marriage at risk when she gets perilously involved in a murder inquiry. Meanwhile, Dalziel becomes involved in a psychological game with a dangerous killer.

Too harsh for me. Prefer Poirot, Morse, Lewis and Barnaby mysteries.

The 3rd episode in this 3rd season uses an unusual photographic technique for all flashbacks that is rather irritating and disruptive. The 4th episode puts Warren Clarke in an unusual situation: rather unbelievable for his type of detective...was it supposed to be humor? The first two episodes were excellent.

I want to personally say I find either Reginald Hill or the director of the Dalziel & Pascoe series the most insultingly irreligious attack on my personal beliefs. Given a chance I would throttle the author and maybe some of the actors too. Anyone can be an atheist but that does not give license to attack people who do have beliefs. What good is an atheist in a world searching for meaning and purpose?
