Add a Comment''Death Wish'' resurrected??? ''Dirty Harry'' resurrected??? If Season 1 is a DERIVATIVE of any great action/adventure movie series,it's because of the charm and backbone of Raylan Givens aka how fast he is on raising his gun and pulling the trigger on deeply narcissistic and arrogant criminals period.
we kick a lot of tires on a lot of series … and perhaps don't have the same taste as others … but this one's a keeper for us… characters well thought out and well developed … lots of humour to go with the (excess?) guns …
at this time i have"nt finished watching the show it has been fun to watch.
Doesn't feel realistic. Bad guys are exagerrated, good guy too much embodies stoic lawman myth. Watched a couple episodes and then stopped.
for all us western hero types. this is a younger version of Clint Eastwood. great fun. a bit of soap opera at times but the people are so "hills of Oregon?"
EXTREMELY deft mixture of Southern gothic/grotesque light with Western lawman a la Clint Eastwood. Everyone does a great job: writers, actors, directors, and crew. It's very winning and watchable.
I highly recommend this series.
YEEEHAWWWWW
Being a proud product of the coalmines of KY, I felt like it was my duty to watch this series. Some of the name dropping sends chills down my spine. Like, "Tate's Creek Bridge" I noticed it didn't look like "it" the last time I was there. That's 'cause it's NOT! The first season is actually filmed on the outskirts of Pittsburgh, PA. Season #2 & #3 are filmed in Southern California. I noticed Palm Trees in some background shots in #2. We didn't have Palm Trees; we had tobacco plants and Mulberry Trees. I didn't think my homees would put up with camera crews from Hollywood showing up on their front porch. I do like the show, it makes me want to drink bourbon and shoot cans and bottles with a loaded weapon.
Great series!! Couldn't stop watching it
