An enjoyable read that provides a different insight into a well-known, but often misunderstood event in history. Jeff Guinn is a good writer who provides readable stories with lots of detail without getting tedious.

very detailed on the history of Tombstone and the Earp-Clanton feud. One of the best books on Wyatt Earp, neither pro or con. A must read.

Being from Arizona, I found this history very personal. But even if I wasn't, I think it's one of the most readable books I've read lately. It turned around various myths I've had about Wyatt Earp and Tombstone and gave me a better understanding about the cowboys of SE Arizona.

Well written, historical account of the events leading up to and including the shootout in Tombstone Arizona. Also includes the aftermath of this event. The author paints a picture of the complex characters involved in this period and works to provide a balanced view, instead of the typical "good versus evil" common in tales of the Old West.
