A personal favorite of mine (recommended by a great friend) and an equally talented cast with the secret of "A" included in all their lives. Season 7 sounds as promising as the 1st! If you love a good mystery with lots of suspense, this is show for you.

I originally put off watching the Pretty Little Liars series for a couple of years, as I thought it’d be too girly or cliche which would eventually make me uninterested. However, I decided to give it a go one day and I was proven wrong. Nothing about Pretty Little Liars is unoriginal or boring. In fact, the series has to be my absolute favourite. The, mysterious, horror-filled, and emotion filled storyline drew me in for more. When you come to think of it, I delayed watching Pretty Little Liars for years —yet the humour and suspense still clicked for me. Over time, shows’ features sizzle out, which causes the content to be less compelling. This wasn’t the case with Pretty Little Liars, which is most likely why it has become one of the most successful shows out there to this day. Without a single doubt, Pretty Little Liars will have you at the edge of your seat eager for more.

The first season of Pretty Little Liars is definitely one of the best ones. High school teens Emily, Hanna, Spencer, and Aria are getting creepy text messages from an anonymous person who goes by “A,” who is threatening to expose their secrets. All of this happens a year after their best-friend Alison goes missing and her body is found, she is the only one who knew their secrets. It is a very mysterious and captivating show that you’ll want to binge-watch with friends or family. Although it can get a bit spooky at times since the plot is about a missing girl who was supposedly killed, it is a very popular show for teenagers.

Pretty little liars, set in Rosewood, Pennsylvania, takes you through the lives of four girls (Aria Montgomery, Spencer Hastings, Hannah Marin, and Emily Fields) who are non-stop harassed by an anonymous persona who goes by “A”. Their lives all started to fall apart a year after the queen bee of their clique, Allison DiLaurentis, went missing. The stalker is always watching them and is always one step ahead. He gets to the girls through text messages, notes in lockers, and even breaking into their house and writing on things or leaving clues that they were there. Since the anonymous stalker goes by A, the girls are left thinking that possibly Allison could be tormenting them? When she was around she was not the nicest person to them, even though they were considered friends. I do really love the series though and I think a wide variety of people could enjoy this. It can be funny at times, but mostly it is dramatic. The end of each episode keeps you wanting more because of all the unsolved mysteries the girls need to figure out. One of my favourites! 5/5 stars

Agreed that none of the stars look or act like teens. The character of Aria in particular, acts like she's her real-life age of twenty-something. I also agree with many others on the internet that the show promotes statutory rape as moral and okay. When we are introduced to a certain character, Ian, we're told he likes young girls but the writers seem to have forgotten they also introduced Wren, who is supposedly a medical resident interested in Spencer. That would make him even older (about 26 or 27) than the English teacher that Aria is dating. It's creepy, not cool.

Complete garbage. We are introduced to a group of high school girls who stink of class privilege, and have no problem acting like the spoiled brats they are. Even when they try to be humble they are sporting outfits that cost more than some people earn in an entire month.

There is not a shred of accountability to be found among them. We've got one involved in a romantic relationship with her teacher (in any other context this would be considered illegal, immoral, and unethical!); and one lusting after her sister's fiance. All of them were the spineless puppets of a Queen Bee recently found murdered, and they have the audacity to sit around and bemoan the invaluable "friendship" of a person that used emotional manipulation like a precision instrument.

None of these girls act or even look like teens. The premise of a murder mystery was enough to grab my attention, but this series is just a complete pile of garbage. I would like to believe that teen girls are capable of so much more than these empty-headed cliches.
