This is a combination sewing, embroidering, needlepoint, knitting, and crocheting beginner's book geared toward girls 6-8 years old. The projects are cutesy but don't expect them to last. They chose a nice selection of knitting and crocheting stitches and the projects using them are well-described. As for the sewing projects, there's a cute felt doughnut and hand-sized soccer ball, but the other projects weren't worth doing. This is a nice way to introduce a little girl to all the basic needle crafts including using a knitting spool. Tastefully done with plenty of photographs.
Super Cool! The patchwork ball is so cute!! ;) (but I had to return it) :(
My daughter (who is nearly 8) loves this book. The first project we've tried together was the doughnuts in the applique section. Great project for all of us -- my daughter, myself, AND my 6 year old son, too!
