I'm so glad that I listened to "Loss of Innocence," the second book of this trilogy, first! This book is so unremarkable that it feels like the companion book to "Loss of Innocence," and I'm not sure I would have gone on to the second book if I'd started here. I'm looking forward to seeing how Mr. Patterson wraps things up in the third book.

This book shows how family problems do not necessarrily make for good reading. Even a mostly favorable outcome leaves the reader exhausted and less than fulfilled. 5 of 10 stars
