Allyson Beatrice lives a not-quite-ordinary life. Her job and almost everyone she knows are the result of spending too much time on the Internet talking about vampires, slayers and lesbian witches. And her encounters are even more unusual than you'd imagine. A hilarious collection of true stories from Allyson's days as one of the Internet's leading cult TV fan gurus, her mind-boggling escapades include meetings with network executives in dark steakhouses to try to save doomed TV shows and one hastily arranged wedding for two committed Buffy fans. Honest, emotional and side-splittingly snarky, Allyson Beatrice brings a fresh voice to these wild but true stories. Will the Vampire People Please Leave the Lobby? welcomes you to a fun and sometimes bizarre world where stupidity frustrates, wit triumphs and connections are made in most unlikely ways...a world, in fact, not too different from our own.

This book should almost be a prerequisite for those that are diving into fandom for the first time orcurious about us fangeeks or don't understand why their son or daughter spends so much time on these 'fan sites' and forums. For us fangeeks, especially of the Whedon variety, it's a hilarious read that easily resonates and reminds you of why fandom seriously rocks. *raises rock fist*

The book as a whole reads like you are sitting down with a friend swapping stories over a few cocktails. Reminiscing about past exploits and adventures, fan campaigns and how people outside of fandom will never understand us. Some of the stories are hysterically funny and caused me to burst out laughing while I read and not for the first time made my husband look at me strangely; while others, a shiny reminder of what a group of passionate people can do.

All around it was refreshing and brilliant. A must read for all fandom geeks.
