I thought this was a nice light read about a young teen girl that has a lot on her plate and how she copes and matures.

Excellent piece of writing. The novel is written in non-rhyming poetry, but it reads like a short story. Very touching, deals with long-term grief in a very realistic but positive manner.

I have days like that...when I want to pull up the covers / and make the world go away, / pretend no one will notice if I stay home.
