Seriously? This book was a National Book Award winner?!? What a disappointment.
Also, thank you for allowing half star ratings, Hennepin County Library!

Name calling and swearing. S-word and some milder oaths. Action is spaced out - mostly things going on in Chris' mind.

This book is really good. It's nothing like the now a day vampire books. it actually has killing. It has a great sense of inner struggle and betrayal. I recommend it! +_+

14 year-old Christopher is having weird sensations. Is it love? Or is he becoming a vampire just as the town readies for it's annual ritual of warding off vampires. Chris deals with friends, strangers who may be helpful or not, a love interest, his family, and an increasing thirst for blood.
