Seems like this should be called A Garry Moore Christmas. I expected to see a lot of Carol Burnett & there isn’t much. However, if you go to the Extras, the segments containing Carol Burnett are on their own.
These shows are from the late ‘50s early ‘60s. TV was not the polished productions we see today & the pace was much slower.
The synopsis lists Bob Newhart. If he was on, I missed it.
I enjoyed the shows for their historical value more than for the content.

I was a little disappointed in "A Carol Burnett Christmas." I was expecting Tim Conway and Harvey Korman to be in the show; however, instead, this is footage from the Gary Moore TV show. While some of the skits are entertaining, the camera is not very good and some of the sketches are a little slow. Carol is funny and the music is beautiful. Also, the Christmas spirit is certainly celebrated. However, there is no doubt this was filmed in the early years of television. (Jonathan Winters and Julie Andrews make special appearances.)

If you were expecting this to be
the polished and talented Carol
Burnett, give this a pass. She is listed at the tag end of the players in these 3 Christmas
'specials' of the Garry Moore
variety show. Even with the big name 'stars', all the shows come across as rather amateurish......
stumbling over lines and generally giving the impression
that no one has a clue about
what's going on. The inclusion of
ALL the sponsor's ads doesn't add to the Christmas spirit!!
The only signs of life in the shows are from Ms Burnett, Ms
Marion Lorne (Aunt Sarah on Bewitched) and Mahalia Jackson,
all of whom were a delight, but
were on for a small fraction of the 180 minutes the shows labored - yes, 180 minutes, since
ALL the commercials were aired in their entirety!!! If you feel you must see this, I suggest you keep
the fast forward button handy!!
