It must be a wonderful book. The last person to hold it hasn't returned it in awhile.

very pleasant read. She didn't say anything bad about anybody. It was more like happy memories from Mary Tyler Moore show, etc. It was a nice story how she adopted her daughter at age 4. This book did not really mention much about the scandal about her tv show "Valerie's Family" turning into "The Hogan Family" after she got fired, etc. Also if I remember correctly, according to the tabloids, recently she was diagnosed with brain cancer. This is not mentioned in the book.

In her autobiography Valerie is open with her fans. She shares reminiscence of both her private and public life beginning with some of her earliest childhood memories and continuing up to just before her diagnosis with brain cancer earlier this year.

Harper shares tales from her professional stage career as a ballerina in Radio City Music Hall as a teenager all the way through to her Tony nominated performance as Tallulah Bankhead in Looped.

Valerie, of course, discusses her almost decade long stint as Rhoda Morganstern in addition to the legal battle she fought over her own name and 1980's sitcom.

Those looking for a behind the scenes tell all book about the Mary Tyler Moore Show or Rhoda or even Valerie needn't bother. Those who want to know a bit more about the woman behind the Bronxite window dresser should definitely give this a read.

Was hoping this would be an insightful book. More factual than insightful about anything behind the scenes. The most you learn is who didn't get cast for a role. However it is a quick read, wasn't a huge waste of time.
