E Herrmann has a perfect voice, timing & delivery for audio books, what a loss at his passing. Jon Meacham is one of the best historians, however, this particular person of Jefferson a puzzle, contrary in his views, rather a bigot. There was little in his life I found to respect, certainly only agreeing on few ideas. Jefferson refers to much on his plantation as being his 'work', what a laugh. He had untold slave labor to gratify his every desire (pun intended.) I found him vain to the extreme, insecure, attention seeking & the great need to be recognized as brilliant, if not just approved by the public. Guess that makes him a very normal human & politician.
