I found this documentary to be outstanding. I didn't have any expectations. I'm a little skeptical about some of his methods, but he does have a gift and people have a lot of love for their dogs (unfortunately, less so for other sentient animals). I like how he told the story in his own words of his migration to the USA. I also liked that he shows significant aging and they didn't photoshop and makeup him to look 30 years old. Most of all, the story was gripping and brought tears to my eyes. He went through a lot of hardship and risk to become the dog trainer he is. Definitely worth watching!

His methods use punishment and other tactics that will scare and hurt dogs. That certainly does not help them be happy. To really help your dog be happy and well behaved, look for books and videos by trainers like Karen Pryor,
Patricia McConnell, Jean Donaldson,
Kathy Sdao (From Tacoma!), Jane Killion. Here is a great website with free positive videos. http://dogmantics.com/free-video-list/

This is a disappointment for true fans everywhere. We all wanted to know more of the personal life of Cesar, but this was more of a promotion of his new TV show. There is very little about his suicide attempt. I was not looking for gory details. What I was looking for was why he felt the way he did when he tried to OD on pills. I was interested in him as a person, not as a celebrity. He has several children yet only one of them took part in the making of this feature... why? It was just an okay piece of fluff. We already know that he has a way with dogs and that he trains people to be better pet owners. My question is still--> who is Cesar Millan?

After watching many episodes of Cesar's tv program this documentary was very interesting to see behind the scenes and about his life. I don't have a dog and still couldn't stop watching the series for each episode was interesting and many of the challenges with the dogs and their families seemed insurmountable. He definitely has a gift of understanding and persistence with both dogs and their human families.
