Brian Michael Bendis and Walter Simonson are each controversial people in the world of Marvel comics and together they should rate three times more controversy, especially given that in this selection of the newer Avengers they mess around with and arguably ruin Marvel characters with cheap characterizations, sappy or annoying dialogue and awful illustrations.

This is a series that I would have demanded my money back if I had been so unfortunate to pay any money to read the story lines.

Marvel has fallen away from proud traditions, from quality and they have abused greatly loved characters such as Hawkeye, by taking him from being a slightly "caddish" but sympathetic guy and turning him into a sexist, unfaithful(?) and idiotic guy with poor taste and a lack of seriousness.

Such is this story that if I were in charge, neither Brian nor Walter would ever work on a comic again (or not for my firm at least).
