In this Norse tale, a group of teens are the embodiments of the Norse gods. Ragnarok, the end of the world is coming, and many people are okay with it...but Matt isn't sure, because it's him who must be sacrificed in order to save the world. This is the first book in a 3-book series.

Why is everyone comparing this book to Percy Jackson? Sure it has Norse mythology incorporated into it, (which I really liked) but this is not the same author! I think it was a great book and should not be compared to Percy Jackson.

This was a really good books series. I read it in a day. I think that it defiantly had an interesting take on the Norse mythology. I would say that it definitely had a more fast paced storyline than Magnus Chase, but I would say give both series a chance.

Loki’s Wolves is the first book in the trilogy, The Blackwell Pages, written by K.L Armstrong and M.A Marr, followed by Odin’s Ravens, and the conclusion, Thor’s Serpents. The book revolves around Norse mythology, quite similar to the myth-filled adventures of Percy Jackson, but the characters in this book are represented differently. For example, instead of being descended by the Norse gods and goddesses, they live in a world where the gods and goddesses have all died, and they are the exact reincarnations of those gods. The main characters, 13 year old Matt Thorsen and Fen Brekke have known about the reality of these myths their entire life, while Laurie Brekke (Fen’s cousin) soon discovers the world of Norse myths. However, their knowledge of these Norse myths have never majorly jeopardized their lives, until now, with the beginning of the end of the world, Ragnarok. The three are thrown on a journey where they must find the rest of the Norse reincarnations to fight against the evil forces. Overall, in this book the characters must face self-discovery, self-doubt, betrayal and whatever the world throws at them. I recommend this book to readers 12 years old and older, and give it around 3.5 stars out of five stars.

I was hoping to get something more Percy Jackson like. But I didn't. I got something different, but still really good. I wouldn't compare this to the Percy Jackson Series because its just a whole different style of a book. And the only way for this to be as good as Percy Jackson would be if Percy was in the books. But that's not gonna happen. Also, I liked this a lot more than Magnus Chase .
