Having reached a time in her life where she feels her family is taking her for granted. the main character Leslie begins an introspective journey that gives us both some funny and touching moments. I really enjoyed this.

Loved, loved this. She turned an all to often painful situation in to an uplifting and at times, hilarious!

This book had me laughing out loud. I listened to it and loved the reader and her southern accent. It is the story of a woman who is literally the last original wife among all of her husbands friends. The friends have all moved on to younger trophy wives. It is the story of a woman who looks around and realizes she is unappreciated by her husband and her family and strikes off to find her own happiness. Truly a fun read.

This book is the laugh out loud story of a woman who finally take control of her life instead of living it to be her ungrateful husband's slave. Leslie is the "last original wife", after all of her husband's friends have divorced theirs and "upgraded" to a younger model. After a fateful trip to Scotland, Leslie decides it's time for a change. The results are hilarious! If you get a chance, listen to it as the narrator captures the southern accents perfectly!

Very much enjoyed this audiobook. Was a fun story and found myself laughing out loud several times. Not at all what I was expecting. The voice reading this book was PERFECT! Especially when the chapter was from Wes’s point of view…sour puss that he is!

This is a well written book. It kept my interest throughout. It wasn't over-the-top thrilling, but it was interesting enough.

My first Frank book. Couldn't put it down.
This book is about marriage and raising kids then stepping back to find out what this woman accomplished in her family.
This author wrote the things some of us have wanted to say and do.

*** stars Leslie Anne Greene Carter is the last original wife among her husband's group of cronies. They've all traded in their first wives-the middle-aged women they long ago promised to love and cherish 'til death did them part-for riper peaches: younger . . . blonder . . . more enhanced models. Leslie is proud of her status and the longevity of her marriage. Sure the spark isn't quite as bright. And it wouldn't be too much to ask if her husband paid just an itty bit more attention to her desires. But there's something to be said for a comfortable and deeply familiar relationship. Or at least she thinks until the day, out walking with her husband and his friends, she slips into a manhole. Nobody realizes that she's gone. That one misstep opens Leslie's eyes to the sham her perfect life has become. No longer will she be invisible. No longer will she accept being taken for granted. With the healing powers of South Carolina's lush white beaches, beautiful sunsets, and endearing and funny residents, Leslie is going to transform herself and reclaim the strong, vibrant, sexy woman she was meant to be. The Last Original Wife is classic Dorothea Benton Frank: a tale of friendship and love. Ms. Frank creates great characters - very nice read. Even at 60 it is not too late to reclaim your life and make your own choices. Recommend.
