I was amazed to know that this was her first CD. The content was that of an artist's 2nd or 3rd CD. She is unafraid and blunt when it comes to issues of the world and her community. The music is superb in the sound and the way it makes you feel.

A beautifully odd and experimental debut album in the genre of Afrofuturism. Check it out and be uplifted. Dance the Tightrope, you'll thank me.

The best album to come out in a long, long time. Combines elements of pop, soul, R&B...very catchy. The music of the future.

Janelle Monáe is a refreshing true artist in this vapid wasteland of Katy Perrys and Lady Gagas. Any fan of R&B should check this out. She's the real deal.
