Paul Cornell and Alan Davis (who pencils most of the collection) deserve far better than to be saddled with one of the most obnoxious characters in the Marvel universe, but they both make the best of it, taking Logan in a different direction, robbed of his healing factor and very much aware of his mortality as he tries to come to terms with it. Cornell's writing and Davis' art elevates the character well above his station.
