Ganshert has fleshed out a story that is as moving as it is entertaining. One thing I like about her voice is that it balances seriousness and humor. As I read '' Broken Kind of Beautiful'', on the one hand, I found myself laughing at some of the dialogs between Ivy and Davis, on the other hand, I wanted to hug Sarah Knight and never let her go. What an exceptional girl. The lessons I drew from her reached for me and left me standing still. '' Broken Kind of Beautiful'' definitely conveys a message that can be so difficult for us to truly grasp being as limited as we are : God is in the business of perfecting not pampering his children (211). To what extent are we willing to trust Him? Ganshert's book packs a punch and, given its lovely romance, I think contemporary romance fans will enjoy it. Honest and down-to-earth, this story is a very good choice for a date with a nice read.
