Mac, the apple (ha ha), and Will, the worm, head for the watering hole on a beautiful day. Unfortunately it hadn't rained so it is just a mud puddle. But Mac and Will make the best of it by playing in the mud and making a mud city. But then the rain comes and sends them running. While sheltering in a nearby tree, they tell stories to make the wait more fun. Finally, the rain stops and they go play with their friends at the now full watering hole.

I like the fact that Mac and Will were determined to turn every negative into positive fun. This is a wonderful message. The illustrations are colorful and interesting. Unfortunately, I could not get past the fact that the worm, Will is attached inside Mac's head. This is a bit creepy. But otherwise the story was good playful fun.
