In the face of a sex scandal controversy, both Olivia Pope and the president must deal with the ensuing backlash. Hounded by photographers, Olivia insists that her "gladiators", the team of crisis management professionals she handpicked and groomed, simply back off and wait it out. First Lady Mellie Grant isn't exactly helpful, flipping switches at a whim and butting heads with her mighty husband; her power plays can't be discounted, though, and Olivia consistently has to work overtime to undo her dirty deeds. Meanwhile, both Fitz and Huck face personal setbacks when Eli, Olivia's father, reenters the picture. If anything's for sure, it's that making it through the reputational spin cycle is tough, but it's even tougher when you're the number-one client. I recommend the third season of SCANDAL.

Season three is almost mind blowing. President Grant is up for re-election, and revelations about his past reveals him for what he is. Liv's father shows us the truth about himself, or at least what he wants us to think is the truth. Quinn, after getting a taste of the dark side in season 2, ventures deeper into that rabbit hole until she is sucked right in. We find out the truth about Liv's mother. But is it the entire truth? Cyrus reaches into the very core of his monster-dome, making one wonder just what WON'T he do. We even find out why Mellie is why she is. And no matter what gets "fixed," it results in something else getting broken.

Of all seasons to binge-watch, this is the best one yet.
