I gave this two listens, and found this to be a nice combination of country and rock. Dwight's voice is just as good as it was when he came out with his first album in 1986.

The songs were not bad and surprisingly clean (morally), but you couldn't hear what he was saying. You had to read the lyrics to know that he was saying. Other than that, recommended.

I never get sick of Dwight Yoakam's voice, but sometimes I forget about him. I heard the title track to this one at the bowling alley last week (how perfect is that?), and realized I hadn't known about this album, which came out in 2015. Worth a listen if you like his iconic high lonesome vocals, or just the kind of well-crafted pop songs with a tinge of classic country that Grandpa would have listened to if he'd had a boom box.

Dwight has put together a solid selection of rockabilly, country-pop, tunes that will please any fan. It is unfortunately quite a short selection in these days where most releases are close to an hour of music. Probably will not get the recognition it deserves because there are so many new " next big things" that the ones we grew up on just seem to get thrown in the " oh ya, another Dwight cd" bin.
