Overall I really enjoyed this film. A little tired of the genre where villains are the anti-heroes who are lovable in the end in spite of their heinous crimes, but it fit the story-line. Agree with another commenter that it's strange that there are no major black characters in a film set in Africa. The acting was good and I liked the music.

It was a great movie. I loved the character of Chappie. I love the sci-fi aspect of this movie and the futuristic look in this movie was cool as well. One thing that I think that could be improved was that I wish there would be more action in this film. But other than that this was an amazing film. I loved the villain in this movie and the actors did an amazing job portraying their characters. This movie had a lot of great lessons as well. I loved the comedy in this movie as well, it made it much better to watch. I recommend this movie to people aged 12 and over. I give this movie a 4.7 out of 5 stars. You should for sure give this movie a watch. @terrificbooklover of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library.

Chappie= crappy.

I really enjoyed this sci-fi comedy but as other reviewers have pointed out, if you're not a Die Antwoord fan it might be difficult to appreciate the multiple layers of humor running through the storyline and references (tribute?) to street culture.

In part, this is because two of the main characters are stage personas, with their own backstory and "mythology" which exists outside of the film itself. Combine this factor with a heavy dose of what can only be described as nerd humor ("Chappie is smart! Chappie has GPS!") and you're really narrowcasting to a very specific audience.

I had higher hopes for Chappie, but was let down.
It felt like a 2 hour advertisement for Die Antwoord.

More demented, big-budget SyFy - This time it's all about a dysfunctional robot... Ho-hum!

It is a more enjoyable movie than the critics gave it credit for.
