Gladys Gatsby is looking forward to a summer vacation of reviewing and cooking -- but a surprise birthday gift sends her to free summer camp at Camp Bentley! She has a hard time passing the swim test and can't keep other campers happy with her lunches. She has other problems, too, like how she's going to find the perfect hot dog in New York City -- and the fact that that quest was just a dirty trick by a jealous reviewer.

It was a treat to discover that this sequel to All Four Stars was every bit as good -- even better than its predecessor. Due to shenanigans by her fellow food critic at the Daily Standard, Gladys is assigned the task of finding the best hot dog in NYC. Hilarity ensues as she tries to find ways to get rides into the city and review as many hot dog vendors as possible. One of the strengths of this series is watching Gladys and her friends problem-solve. They are very creative and occasionally cross a line, but not without consequences. I really love this foody series for middle grade students.

A really great read for ages 8 and up! An enjoyable, light, witty comedy. Gladys Gatsby, an eleven year old food critic hunts the streets of New York City in search of best hot dog in the city; for her new assingment for her newspaper "The New York Standard". While working on her assingment, Gladys must also keep her work a secret from her parents and survive a whole summer at the local Camp Bentley. Will Gladys be able to take on such a task?
