Visitors to our Greater Midwest Lego® Train Club train layout often ask us how we learned to build the complex buildings and trains we create. I like to point them to this book, because it teaches the many building techniques we use. Perfect for the preteen builder or the Adult Fan of Lego®, the Lyle brothers have done an excellent job of developing master builder techniques for creating beautifully complex real-world architectural constructions. They start off with simple, small items such as park benches and newspaper stands and work the reader up to brownstones and small business buildings, teaching the reader how to adapt real-world architectural design into Lego® constructions. Much of the book is based on the New York City style of architecture the brothers grew up with, which brings a rich history and variety to the building techniques as well. Complete Lego® building instructions are included for several creations and the book is full of beautiful pictures of additional creations, to inspire the reader. This book is highly recommended for every aspiring Master Builder!
