A blazingly passionate memoir of identity and love: when a charismatic and troubled young woman dies tragically, her identical twin must struggle to survive. Beautifully written, mesmerizingly rich and true, Parravani's account of being left, one half of a whole, and of her ultimately triumphant struggle is informative, heart-wrenching, and unforgettably beautiful.

I loved this being mum to a set of identical twins I could relate to their bond - a sad book, I cried like a baby BUT loved it

I’m not fond of depressing memoirs, but I will make an exception to this story of identical twins. One never recovers from a brutal rape and finds solace in drugs and eventually dies. The struggle the remaining twin has is so saddening. For those of us who lack someone as close as a twin, this story is a fascinating look with no rose-colored glasses used for the telling of the story.

Loved this book. Very heartfelt. Never lost a twin but have lost a good friend to suicide. The feelings when she comes to me is the same as Chrsta felt about Cara. Couldn't put this book down and finished it over two days.

No. Really nein, nix, nunca - no thank you. Got up to page 40 thought i might have to hang myself in my closet. A story about the suicide of a twin and the potentially insurmountable grief of the living twin. Poignant and well written, even poetic in parts. Very real life, a vulnerable sharing for this author. I honor that. AND i flipped through to the middle, the near end and the end. The storyline and all the language was the same, the story the same same same same...i put it down. did not finish. did not want to. yeah...NO.

It won't let me give a star rating, so I'll do it here: 4 stars. Not an easy read because of the anguish Christa went through dealing with the grief of her twin sister dying. She really struggled to become an individual.
