I loved this book. It was a hard story about a terrible event, but I learned a lot about how it actually was to experience this hurricane. I really felt that I understand Armani and the struggles she went through. It showed the power of family and of neighborhoods.

What Armani wanted was the best birthday party ever. What she got was Hurricane Katrina, ripping her family apart, testing their resolve, and showing her what it really takes to be strong in the face of an overwhelming catastrophe.
