From Library Staff

BOULEVARD, was the last film that Robin Williams was in (he died 4 months before it came out in 2014). His character is a closeted gay man in this sad movie.

Why did we not hear about this? One of his best movies. I watched this and have empathy for the discrimination suffered by the homosexual community. This is a heartbreaker and I have compassion for those who have to live with this discrimination. I loved this movie and I miss Robin Williams and his talent.

Oh, so sad. Robin Williams last film he made. Sad all over, though the end may give you breath that a hope may have been there. Damn.

Robin Williams gives a stellar performance in this movie. Wow, I didn't see this coming! I would recommend this movie.

This film had mixed reviews, but I was curious to see what Kathy Baker was doing after all those years on Picket Fences. I liked the film more than most reviewers. It was a subject that needs more exposure.

And another coming out movie. Yes, Robin Williams was a great actor. But everything is stereotypical. The pimp is overplayed. After 30 minutes, just turned it off.

Robin Williams' final dramatic performance before his untimely death...

Robin Williams showed great diversity in his roles, this one is no exception. He was such a brilliant performer. Sadly, this film is one of his last.

Wonder if this is more truth about Robin Williams than movie

My experience of R.W.'s acting career began with "World According to Garp" & bookended with this. Both exposed the man having inner conflicts with opposite conclusions. R.I.P. Robin.

Topic has been beaten to death and this film exhibited much of the same old social anxieties when a good husband and son decided to come out of the closet ... he was jolted out of his comfortable routines after a brief involvement with the violent life of a street young man.

Spoiler Alert:
Joy: What are you gonna do without me? How are you gonna make it? Please, you don't need to leave.
Nolan: Yeah, I do.
Joy: No, please, we can make it work. We've always made it...
Nolan: It's never worked, okay?
Joy: How can you say that?
Nolan: Because it hasn't. Never.
Nolan: I'm sorry, it's's not what I wanted.
Joy: Then what is it that you want? Please, you won't even try.
Nolan: Try? What do you think I've been doing all these years? Going to that job day after day, form after form, all to keep up this
ridiculous pretense.
Joy: Is that what I am to you? A ridiculous pretense?!
Nolan: No, you're not! No, you're not. It's just over.
Joy: No. My God...
Nolan: I love you, Joy. That was never a lie. It's just time for us to be in the real world.
Joy: What if I don't wanna be in the real world?
Nolan: Well, I do.
Joy: Well, I don't. That's why I married you.

Spoiler Alert and profanity:
Nolan: We need to talk.
Joy: I don't wanna talk.
Nolan: We have to.
Joy: Well, I don't want to. Are you going to be with him?
Nolan: I don't even know where he is.
Joy: Why?
Nolan: Because I can't lie anymore. No more lies.
Joy: You can't do this. Is he better than me?
Nolan: It's not that. Of course not.
Joy: Then what? You wanted to talk, so you're gonna give me a goddamn answer.
Nolan: I just did.
Joy: No, that wasn't good enough. What does he do for you that I don't?
Nolan: It's not that.
Joy: Well, then what is it?! Because I need to know. Does he clean your clothes for you? Does he listen to your stories, your boring fucking stories?! 'Cause I don't think he does. Does he tell you that everything's okay even when it isn't? Because I am sure he doesn't do that. ... Did he put up with your father's demands till they piled up on him and clogged his whole goddamn life, my whole goddamn life?
Oh, my God, Nolan, the arrogance of you.
