This was like having a much needed pep talk with a close friend.

Big Magic is the type of book you keep around for inspiration, motivation, and all-round creative guidance. Liz Gilbert writes about the struggles and expectations of living a creative life, which is something Gilbert argues to be something we all live. She mainly speaks about her main creative profession: writing, but this book can be interpreted into any form of creativity such as dancing, gardening, and art! I loved the tidbits of stories that cleanly tie into her next piece of advice for the reader. There were a lot of laughs stuffed between the pages and plenty of advice – for both my life and my creative life – that I will be carrying for the rest of my life. Big Magic is probably the closest thing to a solid cure for Writer's Block. A must-read!

This book changed something in me. It took the pressure off and gave me the space and forgiveness I needed to jump back into art. I now paint nearly every day which I haven't been able to do so easily in years. I would recommend it to anyone that finds themselves struggling to create!

If you create, especially if you write, stop what you're doing right now and find a copy of Big Magic. She busts through all the excuses you've ever used to avoid putting pen to paper.

Greatly enjoyed this read. So many stories to support the overall goal of living a creative life. Encouraging words to make it work, for yourself. And not without some awesome laughs along the way.

Gilbert's Big Magic is fun and, more importantly, inspirational. This is a book I want to reread every time I feel my creativity waning.

Love how she empowers us to pursue the creativity without being totally illogical. It's a light reading but full of interesting anecdotes.
