At the end of the movie ( before the credits ) , you get to see everyone of the miners that this movie is about. You first see them in a group picture , then each one of them is talked about one after another , you see a bunch of them together in some pictures. They all survived.

Maybe there needs to be a movie or docu drama based on the true investigations and aftermath of lawsuits and criminal charges .. and how that affected the miners and their families ..

This is a 2015 American-Chilean disaster-survival docudrama directed by Patricia Riggen, based on the real events of the 2010 mining disaster, in which a group of thirty-three miners were trapped inside the San José Mine in Chile for more than two months.
Previous geological instability at the old mine and a long record of safety violations for the mine's owners, San Esteban Mining Company, had resulted in a series of fines and accidents, including eight deaths, during the dozen years leading up to this accident.
Following three years of work, however, lawsuits and investigations into the collapse concluded in August 2013 with no charges filed.
It would be much more interesting if the film delved into this legal mess.

Some film critics put the film down because the language spoken is English, and not Spanish. I have no issue with that myself, as most actors did have Spanish as their mother tongue. There is a little bit of over-acting here and there, but overall I think the films is very engaging. And I share in the joy upon the depicted success of the rescue. As a re-enactment this film does the job. Mainly in English but with a little bit of Spanish blended in.

True story of resilience, faith and survival of human kind. Poignant delivery of actors, you feel for the unsafe conditions these workers were subjected, all in the name of productivity...

A pretty interesting movie. I wish I knew how much of it was accurate and how much was from hollywood (e.g. the role of the Minister of Mines, the roles of the trapped miners). The movie could really have used some written updates for what happened to the 33 mines after the fact (other than they are all still friends). Again it was interesting that the criminal charges against the company did not hold but no mention of why.

Mandatory viewing for everyone so we remember the strength of standing together. Too bad this didn't do better in the box office to support more of this type of history-to-film effort. In a time where media likes to sensationalize facts & innuendos for ratings, this movie demonstrates a beneficial strength of media to stop businessmen from "cutting losses to preserve the bottom line."

Good movie!
It was a miracle for 33 Chilean miners who buried underground for 69 days and could still survive. Thanks for the hard work of the rescuers!
This is true story and worth watching!
