1960s. Fifth-grader Scotty Smalls has just moved into town with his folks. Kids call him a dork because he can't even throw a baseball. But that changes when the leader of the neighborhood gang recruits him to play on the nearby sandlot field. It's the beginning of a magical summer of baseball, wild adventures, first kisses and fearsome confrontations with the dreaded beast and its owner who live behind the left field fence. Soon nine boys have become best friends, Scotty is part of a team, and their leader has become a local legend.

Add a CommentA great movie for all ages. I also recommend THE GOONIES.
The Sandlot is a great movie for kids and adults. It doesn't matter whether you enjoy baseball or, like me, have zero interest in it. The movie has some very funny moments. Its narrative style is similar to A Christmas Story and The Wonder Years TV series. The Sandlot is rated PG for some language and kids chewing tobacco.
If there is one movie I have seen about 100 times than it is the Sandlot. Being a childhood favorite, I have seen this many many times and not once have I gotten bored of it. It's a classic and will never be forgotten. It's 2 hours of a group of boys getting into mischief and causing all shorts of problems. The narration was awesome and the whole entire film is just hella fun.
This is one of the best movies for young baseball players. Highly recommend this one!
