Add a CommentThis is a 2005 documentary directed by Lauren Lazin, based on the book: "Salvaged pages : young writer's diaries of the Holocaust" by Alexandra Zapruder.
Anne Frank is just one of those many young children and teenagers.
It is a gripping, heart-wrenching and profoundly thought-provoking documentary.
Many documentaries about this chapter in human history focus so much on the broader context of the Holocaust and WW2, that they fail to show the simple, tragic ways that the Holocaust destroyed people’s lives. This documentary shows what life was really like for the victims – living in ghettos, hiding in neighbouring countries, starving with their families, and trying to stay alive. A hauntingly well-made film that should be watched by children and adults alike.
I strongly believe this should be watched by all youth taking history in high school. Powerful in its look at real youth living and fighting to survive during the darkest years in modern history.
