Complex numbering. Economic Talk. Why is it that I don't seem to understand under the hordes of paragraphs that seemingly lost to me at every page? Must I carry an official economic translation book every time I flip these pages? I'm an inexperience reader at this and so will those who are like me.

Whether you are interested in the economy, science, or politics of the world's most populous nation, this book has some interesting statistics for you. It's all packaged in fairly easily digestible form, with very logical groupings. It's amazing to read of the depth and breadth of changes that have occurred in China since Mao (even if we think that freedoms are still very limited). The author provides a sufficiently clear linkage between the statistics and analysis (of what it all means) that it's fairly straightforward to make your own assessment of the facts and whether you think the author's analysis is fair/balanced/accurate.
{So thank you StarGladiator for highlighting this book - despite your ad-hominem belittling it is worthwhile}

I have yet to read this book, so I cannot comment on it, but the remark that // leading to the country's strategic holding of more U.S. debt than any other nation \\ was mistaken [just look up the top foreign debt holders]. Would warn any reader to bear in mind that the author belongs to an international so-called think tank, the Brookings-Tsinghua Center.
