It is a genre-bending martial arts series very loosely based on the classic Chinese tale Journey to the West. In a land controlled by feudal barons, Into the Badlands tells the story of a ruthless, well-trained great warrior Sunny and a young boy M.K. who embark on a spiritual journey across a dangerous land to find enlightenment.

I love this kind of entertainment; post-apocalyptic fantasy martial arts mythology, interesting story lines even when the actual dialogue stumbles, and some of the major characters are just unpredictable enough to keep you guessing about who's really the bad guy(s). I look forward to seeing them and more of the backstory flesh out!

Pretty bad- the main actor can't act, and the fights were phony baloney. I stopped watching after 5 minutes because I wasn't about to waste my time on this junk.

Fans of classic chop-socky films should find plenty to love in this graphic-novel-esque series. Choreographed by the master behind "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". Chock-full of fantastic martial-arts action, this is a futuristic tale of a world after the collapse of our modern-day civilization; ruled by feudal barons. The costumes are great; if a little snicker-inducing at times; (kicking butt in spike heels? really?!) The actors cast here are just fantastic. Whoever does that guy's hair should get an award! So much fun; my only complaint is - TOO SHORT at 6 episodes. MORE!!!
