Good book on a diverse career in publishing .
Lots of interesting anecdotes about authors.

I'm torn. He name dropped his friends & clients flaws & foibles. Simon & Schuster the place where guys married each other's mistresses. Chuckled at politics of churning out books to the general public. He got his wallet infant daughter picture for baby book after expensive FUBAR photoshoot. However, now my book list just grown from all the books he edited.
He certainly pulled the curtain on the book industry, ballet politics (who the next director of Miami City Dance), magazine (a rest-cure?), & book critic.
Shoe on other foot message on him being a book writer.
Bit weird on chapter on his family at end of the book. However, family skeleton at National Security level.

a wonderful book for literary types for whom the name dropping is like hearing about old friends. I laughed aloud on every page and now have many more titles to add to my list.
