Ranger is a golden retriever that travels through time with an old metal first aid kit. He has also been trained as a search and rescue dog. When the first aid kit begins humming, Ranger knows that he will be sent to another place and time. This time Ranger is sent to Iceland when Vikings were living there. A little girl named Helga is looking for her father after a volcano has erupted. She meets Ranger while looking for her father. Usually Ranger does the rescuing but this time Helga rescues him and she saves him more than once. Ranger gets to go home after he has helped someone, he is worried about how he will get home when Helga doesn’t seem to need his help.
