Goldfrapp continues to reinvent their sound - a la David Bowie - in their latest album release Silver Eye. Departing from the folk inspired Tales of Us, Goldfrapp returns to their roots in uptempo electronica thus creating a sound that comes off like a mixture of Jodorowsky meets Depeche Mode. What I love about Silver Eye is how well Goldfrapp combined contrasting elements to create a cohesive story, as much of the lyrical content is organic and supernatural, which flawlessly meshes with the opposing, cybernetic, and otherworldly sound of the instrumentation. Silver Eye is an evocative listening experience from start to finish and is one album you won't want to miss in 2017.
