A poignant look at a world in which brevity, and efficiency have become the enforced norm. This brilliantly written, dark mirror is ever more relevant as our culture races towards some perfect efficiency. What do we give up when our very mode of communication becomes so adulterated that basic human thoughts, emotions, and experiences are unable to be expressed as they are complex, and thus not adaptable to brevity? Following the life of a teenage girl and her attempt to break free of the cold and efficient world she was born into.

A dystopian future where it's all about going fast. Everyone is supposed to use contractions, watch 10 minute "hyper movies", and read condensed versions of old books. Its taboo to slow down and enjoy the small things. Our lead doesn't like the fast pace of the world and falls into an underground of dissenters. It has the bones of an interesting concept, but the characters just didn't feel quite fleshed enough and I wanted more story development. Still a solid read with interesting points on where the world could easily fall.
