I really enjoyed reading a novel set in the 1760s (not very many out there) and I knew exactly nothing about the silk and weaving trade, so for that, this novel was fascinating. I really enjoyed reading a novel set in the 1760s (not very many out there) and I knew exactly nothing about the silk and weaving trade, so for that, this novel was fascinating. However, it felt a little lacking in plot and character development, and sometimes the writing seemed a bit underdeveloped.
