For centuries there have been rumors of another continent on the dragons' planet -- another land far across the ocean, populated by tribes of dragons very different from those we know. But there's never been any evidence, and most dragons dismissed the rumors as fairy tales. Until now. Because it turns out the stories are true. And the other tribes are coming.

Okay, first let me say this...this is a good book. Although I may like the original dragon tribes a bit better the new are sorta cool...almost kinda TOO cool. Alright, whatever.
Yeah so, just to tell the truth the first few chapters (in my humble opinion) are really boring. Once Luna has her metamorphosis it gets more interesting. Oh yeah, the thing about, like, the zombie dragons is TOTALLY weird...totally. Also, Blue's dad is a...oh, what's the right word? Buffoon? Doofus? Idiot? I don't know. Anyhoo, I'm exited for the next book! :)
And Qubli and MOON are in the epilogue!
Hope Luna and Blue get reunited! (fingers crossed)

P.S I heard that tui is making "The lost heir" a graphic novel, too! She's also gonna write book 12,13,14, AND 15!!!!!
SO EXITED!!!!

can't wait to read this book!!!!!! Is this the last one, because I heard there was another one? Does this library have it???

-Silver the nightwing ( its hard to type on these small com-pew-tars)

I love this book as much I love all the others because the Wings of Fire series is just sooooooooooo good!!! Blue is just such a good dragon that all he wants to do is go by the rules. But sometimes he doesnt know that the rules can be broken if it's to save the world. I can't wait for the next book.

At the beginning of the book, Blue the Silkwing and his sister Luna are preparing for Luna’s metamorphosis. Blue is exited and happy for his sister, but when her metamorphosis starts, Blue and his family are startled to see Luna weaving with fiery silk. Then, Blue sees Hivewing guards take Luna away. Blue’s friend Io tells him that Luna has a rare silkwing condition called Flamesilk. Io also warns Blue that the Hivewings and their queen, Queen Wasp, will try to capture him as well. When Blue tries to escape after Io’s warning, he sees many Hivewings suddenly doing strange things and trying to capture him. He finds out that this is because Queen Wasp can mind-control all Hivewings....Exept for one. Blue soon meets a Hivewing named Cricket, who is immune to Wasp’s mind control. Thanks to Cricket, Blue soon is able to find Swordtail, a friend of Luna. Swordtail, Blue, and Cricket fly to the Wasp hive, where they think Luna is imprisoned. Everything is going well until they get captured by several Leafwings, a tribe that was thought to be extinct. They tell Blue that if he and Cricket will steal the Book of Clearsight for them, they will show him where Luna is. Blue, Cricket, and Sundew (one of the Leafwings) go into the Library where Blue is captured by the Hivewings. He is taken to a cave where he finds Luna and many other Flamesilks. They escape though a hole in the cave, and crawl down a tunnel which leads onto a beach. They peacefully rest on the beach when some Hivewings attack. Luna is blown off into a storm and makes her way to Pyrrhia, where she meets Moon, Quibli, and Jerboa.

Everything is about to change.

Blue the SilkWing is content. Life in his Hive is safe; he loves his family; he has enough to eat. And Pantala has been at peace for as long as he can remember — SilkWings and HiveWings live and work together in harmony, and because they stay vigilant, no one has seen a dangerous LeafWing in years.

Now that Blue's sister, Luna, is undergoing her Metamorphosis, Blue knows things are going to change. Luna will have her wings and her silk, be assigned a partner and a work order, and move to another Hive. A few days later, Blue's own wings and silk will come in.

But nothing could prepare Blue for what happens when Luna's wings start to grow. Suddenly his world is turned upside down, throwing him into dangers he never knew existed. Pantala isn't as peaceful as it seems, and Blue isn't safe. Whether he's ready or not, it's time to adapt — and fight for his life.

“If you want to be in this conversation,” Blue shouted, “just come back and be in it already.”
There was a moment of rustling silence.
“No, no,” said Belladonna’s voice. “Carry on. Pretend we’re not here.”
Swordtail snorted.

“They won’t be OBVIOUS questions,” Cricket objected. “They will be VERY SUBTLE. I am an EXCEPTIONALLY subtle dragon, sir.”
“Hmm,” Blue said dubiously.
