"From the bestselling author of It's Always the Husband comes a novel about a love triangle that begins on a fateful night... There is a stranger outside Caroline's house. Her spectacular new beach house, built for hosting expensive parties and vacationing with the family she thought she'd have. But her husband is lying to her and everything in her life is upside down, so when the stranger, Aidan, shows up as a bartender at the same party where Caroline and her husband have a very public fight, it doesn't seem like anything out of the ordinary. As her marriage collapses around her and the lavish lifestyle she's built for herself starts to crumble, Caroline turns to Aidan for comfort...and revenge. After a brief and desperate fling that means nothing to Caroline and everything to him, Aidan's obsession with Caroline, her family, and her house grows more and more disturbing. And when Caroline's husband goes missing, her life descends into a nightmare that leaves her accused of her own husband's murder. A Stranger on the Beach is Strangers on a Train meets Fatal Attraction in Michele Campbell's edge-of your-seat story of passion and intrigue."-- Provided by publisher.

Great psychological thriller. Two very different narratives unfold, leaving the reader to guess which one, if either, is reliable.

A Stranger on the Beach by Michele Campbell is a psychological thriller that is unpredictable. Caroline Stark is a happily married woman who has recently moved into her dream home: a high-end beach mansion in the Hamptons. A house-warming party turns into an embarrassment when Caroline and her husband have a loud argument about "the other woman". Caroline soon turns to Aidan, a local bartender and ex-con for solace and a short sexual relationship soon ensues. Although many of the characters are not likable, the reader's interest is maintained throughout by the many plot twists. Who is the good person, who is the bad, will change from page to page and you will not know who to cheer for. Who will commit a crime? Who will be blamed for the crime? Who will be the victim of the crime? Meanwhile, in the background, a hurricane is brewing. Suspense abounds.

Very good and catching from the start. The story line keeps you going but the end was a cliche. Overall it was a good starter mystery.

Loved this mystery! This is the author’s third book and all have been fantastic and hard to put down! Love the way the plot twists and turns and you are left practically to the last page to solve the crime! Highly recommend!

When two unreliable narrators get together.....

Holy unreliable narrators, Batman! This story is mostly told by two narrators. Caroline is a socialite with a beach house and a Wall Street husband. Aiden is a bad boy bartender who is fifteen years her junior and the spitting image of Brad Pitt. Their one night stand sends this book into "Fatal Attraction" zone if we are to believe Caroline. Aiden believes he has found his soulmate and that Caroline feels the same way. As events escalate we start to realize that neither one of our narrators are giving us the straight scoop. Obviously a great beach read =D.
