One of the best series I've seen in a long time. Really enjoyed this. Well worth a watch.

I guess you have to read the graphic novel to understand this series. The actors were good. Not one of my favorites.

Highly imaginative and full of surprises especially in the final two episodes. The table is set for Season 2 which will be something to watch. Nice music and transitions from scene to scene. Before the murder of George Floyd on May 26, 2020, never heard of The Tulsa Race Massacre (May 31 and June 1, 1921.) The inhuman savage event leads off the series in ep. 1 broadcasted on October 20, 2019. And this quote appears in ep. 3 that was broadcasted on Nov. 3, 2019, well before the mask debate for Covid-19 began in Mar. 2020:
Senator Joe Keen to Agent Laurie Blake: “Masks save lives...”

This certainly won't be everyone's cup of tea and picks up many years after the classic graphic novel. However, this production is superb and stands on its own merit. Sometimes in this genre, it is easy to get 'lost' but this was clear and had a complete story. Flashbacks were important and added tremendously to the story which isn't always the case; this included important historical context ie. the Tulsa massacre. Regina King is outstanding as are all of the cast, including veterans like Jean Smart who I haven't seen since Fargo. The casting of Tim Blake Nelson was also a great move. I wasn't sure I'd watch this after seeing the first episode but am I ever glad I stayed with it. A unique ride.

I don't think anyone knew what to make of this. Zack Snyder's film version of watchmen was terrible and proved that adapting Watchmen was a fool's errand in the first place as it is so perfectly suited to its original medium. Was I expecting a sequel series set thirty years after the events of the graphic novel with a thematic focus on American race relations and generational trauma? No, I was not. Did it end up as the most compelling thing I saw all year? It absolutely did. While there is certainly a demand for a second season, I sort of hope they leave it as it is. It's a perfect and thrilling miniseries.

Many quotes in the net. This is the conversation between Dr. Manhattan and Angela in ep. 8 "A God Walks into a Bar" P1 of 2:

-MANHATTAN: Seven decades later, and 390 million miles away, I fulfill my promise. I'm creating something beautiful. Within the pocket of atmosphere I synthesized, and before the very structures they lived and died in decades earlier, I made Adam and Eve, not in my own image, but in theirs.
ANGELA: I gotta tell you, man, you have a fantastic imagination. What, you got something caught in your throat?
-Six months from now, a friend is telling me I have a profound lack of imagination.
You have friends?
-Perhaps he's more of a colleague. He tried to kill me once.
Wonder why. So, tell me, if you went through all this trouble to create the Garden of Eden, then why'd you leave?
-So I could meet you.
Come on, man.
-I love you.
Oh! We just met. When the fuck did you fall in love with me?

Many quotes in the net. This is the conversation between Dr. Manhattan and Angela in ep. 8 "A God Walks into a Bar" P2 of 2:

-I was already in love with you.
Before you even saw me?
-I don't... experience the concept of "before."
So, there's no moment?
- Moment?
A moment. When you realize, "Oh shit, I'm in love." For example, I'm looking at you, hiding behind your mask, and I'm having the opposite of that moment. Hmm. You might be pretty good- looking if you didn't cover yourself in blue makeup.
-It's not makeup.
You're naturally blue.
-That's right.
I thought Dr. Manhattan glows.
-I could if I wanted to, but it would attract too much attention.
Come on. Nobody in here is gonna notice. Just glow a little bit.
-I'd rather you remain unsure before you agree to have dinner with me tomorrow night.
My blue friend, you think you may know all about me, but you have made a critical error in your approach. I hate Dr. Manhattan.
