I was very impressed with Timothy Zahn after reading his Heir to the empire series earlier this year. I believe his strengths lie in complex story telling over several novels. Choices of One is good, it feels like he's following the same formula of telling the story from many perspectives but since he only has one book to tell the story in, it wasn't very developed. I found Luke to be quite annoying, and Han and Leia weren't much better. It was nice to read about Mara when she was at her top with the Emperor backing her. I think the part I liked best was the teaser at the end for a new novel by a different author:)
